アジリティ・ロボティクスが今朝、新型ヒューマノイドを公開しました。Digit 5は23キロを持ち上げ、手は2.2メートルまで届き、充電は9分で終わります。先に受け取る顧客は来年前半、それ以外は2027年末です。
アジリティ株は買えません。非上場です。代わりに売買されているのはチャーチル・キャピタルXIという会社です。去年12月に1ユニット10ドルで売り出し、事業はありません。信託口座がひとつと、年内にアジリティになるという契約書が一枚あるだけです。その契約書が会社です。それを根拠に夏には20ドル近くまで上がり、大半を戻しました。
アジリティが出した書類の昨年の純売上高は180万ドルです。今回の合併でついた企業価値は25億ドルです。
2週間前にはグーグルがファーボ・エナジーと396メガワットの電力購入契約を結びました。ユタ州の地熱です。ファーボはその日上げ、今は52週安値まで1ドルを切るところにいます。上場は5月、前四半期の売上高は11万3千ドルでした。
この間、覆った話はありません。グーグルの署名は本物で、ロボットは実在し、受注も帳簿にあります。動いたのは待つことの値段です。材料は良くなっているのに、その値段は下がりました。
日本も赤字のまま上場できる場所を用意しています。グロース市場に来て数年たった会社を今見ると、どうでしょうか。取引所が利益の代わりに見ることにしたものは何で、それは機能していますか。Agility Robotics unveiled its new humanoid this morning. You cannot buy Agility. It is private. What trades instead is Churchill Capital Corp XI, a blank-check company that sold units at ten dollars last December and has no operations at all — just a trust account and a signed agreement to become Agility before this year is out. That agreement is the whole company. On the strength of it the shell ran to nearly twenty dollars over the summer, and it has handed most of that back since.
Agility's own filing puts last year's net sales at $1.8 million. The merger values it at $2.5 billion.
Two weeks ago Google signed a 396-megawatt power purchase agreement with Fervo Energy for a geothermal project in Utah. Fervo jumped on the news, then drifted to within a dollar of its 52-week low. It listed in May, and it booked $113,000 of revenue last quarter.
Neither story has been contradicted since. Google's signature is real, the robot exists, the orders are on the books. What moved is the price of waiting, and it has been falling while the news improves.
Is there a route in Korea or Japan for a company to list before it earns anything? If there is, what does the exchange ask for in place of earnings, and does anyone think it works?
