Those Profiting Were 52.0%, Those with Zero Stress Were 7.1% 利益が出ている人は52.0%、ストレスが0の人は7.1%でした
14.6% responded that they were at a loss. Only 7.1% answered that their stress level was zero. There are fewer people who can remain calm than those who are losing money.
A survey targeting 800 individual investors engaged in stock investment was released on July 14. The survey was conducted by Treasure Promote on July 1, with a nearly equal split between men and women.
Let's look at the profit and loss. Overall, 52.0% are making a profit. The breakdown is 8.6% 'making large profits' and 43.4% 'making moderate profits.' Losses accounted for a total of 14.6%, and 33.5% reported no change. Half are winning, and one in seven are losing. These are not bad figures.
The stress distribution does not read that way. 26.1% responded with '7 or higher' on a 10-point scale, and the most frequent answer was '5' at 24.8%. Furthermore, only 7.1% answered '0', which is the lowest level recorded in this survey.
When divided by generation, the 20s are scattered at both ends. 'Making large profits' was 20.5%, more than five times that of the 60s at 3.8%. On the other hand, 'making large losses' at 8.9% was also the highest across all generations. Stress shows a similar pattern, with 12.5% choosing the maximum value of '10' (compared to 2.3% for the 60s), and simultaneously, '0' was also the highest across all generations at 10.7%.
Let's look at the indices. The Nikkei average closing price on the survey date was ¥70,475. The closing price on August 17 was ¥69,220.25. Even after five consecutive days of gains, it is still below the survey date's level.
It is also worth examining the details of August 17. Of the ¥506.45 rise, Advantest contributed approximately ¥219, and Kioxia HD contributed approximately ¥190. These two stocks alone accounted for about ¥409. On the same day, the TOPIX closed down 13.09 points. Since the Nikkei average is a price-weighted index, if a few high-priced stocks move, only the index rises. This means that on days the index went up, many people saw their account balances decrease.
Whether this is the true cause of the stress revealed in the survey is unknown, as the survey did not ask for reasons.
For clarity, this is not a matter of disposition. Different systems allow the purchase of different products, and different products lead to varying frequencies of observing price movements.
Are your own profit/loss figures and stress levels for this year moving in the same direction?
