Breaking: China's Semiconductor CXMT Surges 476% on Debut, Grabbing Market Attention
Today in Asian markets, China's key memory semiconductor company CXMT is drawing intense market interest, having recorded a surge of up to 476% compared to its IPO price on its first day of trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. This is considered a significant event that goes beyond a mere IPO, showcasing China's determination for semiconductor self-reliance and the current state of the global technological hegemony competition.
CXMT's IPO this time marks the largest in the Asian market this year and the second largest on China's mainland stock market since the Agricultural Bank of China in 2010. This explosive stock price surge is analyzed as a result of investors flocking to buy, driven by the synergy between the Chinese government's strong policies to foster the semiconductor industry and expectations of increased demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) memory. Notably, CXMT surpassed the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to become the number one company by market capitalization on China's mainland stock market immediately after its listing. Meanwhile, foreign investors are betting on perpetual futures products tracking CXMT's stock price on cryptocurrency exchanges to bypass restrictions on investing in the Chinese market, with approximately $19 million worth of derivatives traded in the last 24 hours. This suggests that capital flows may emerge through the cryptocurrency market, bypassing the regulatory barriers of traditional financial markets, and could bring about new changes in the way the stock and cryptocurrency markets interact.
CXMT's successful listing is expected to be a crucial turning point, confirming the potential of China's semiconductor industry and, along with it, a new trend in the global investment environment: the emergence of regulatory bypass routes.

CXMT up 476% on its first day of trading... China really seems to be a huge market. Makes me wonder if Korea was like this back in the day too.CXMT 상장 첫날 476%라니…
476%? Seriously? That's some insane IPO pop. Makes you wonder what the actual valuation should have been. Probably a lot of retail investors FOMOing in hard right now, but who knows, maybe China really is making big strides in semiconductors. Still feels like a bit of a gamble though.476%? Seriously? A Chinese semiconductor company's stock mooning 476% on its first day of listing... well, it's plausible given it's China, but is it really that big of a deal? I get that memory is hot due to AI demand, but this is truly incredible. I wish our country's (Japan's) semiconductor sector could also step up.
