Upgraded and down 13% on the same day — earnings tomorrow at 18:45 格上げされた日に13%安 — 決算は明日の18時45分
On October 13, S&P raised Kioxia's long-term credit rating from BBB- to BBB, outlook positive. The headline on S&P's own release ties the upgrade to an earnings forecast that came in above its assumptions. The stock closed down 13% the same day.
The selling came from outside the company. US September CPI ran hot, a US data center firm fell hard on debt worries, and the semiconductor index broke. On top of that came reports that a Chinese manufacturer was making progress on memory development.
S&P had put that Chinese capacity buildout in the upgrade document itself, as a risk. Same material. The rating agency raised, the market sold.
Measured from the June high and adjusted for the split, the stock is down to roughly a third. What the company itself published over that stretch included an operating margin above 70% for April-June. Kioxia also draws more message board posts than any other name in Japan, but what has moved it is American data, Chinese headlines, and a large shareholder heading for the exit.
The company's own numbers arrive tomorrow, October 30 at 18:45 Tokyo time, pushed back from the usual 15:30 to after the close. As of July it had still not issued a full-year forecast.
Which name in your market has its price set, in practice, by a decision taken somewhere else?10月13日、キオクシアはS&Pから長期格付けをBBB-からBBBに上げられました。
